Statement of Inclusion
All Are Welcome
“For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” - Galatians 3:26-28
The congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish (FPCS) affirms the worth and dignity of all people. We commit to providing a safe place for ALL to explore Christian faith. We embrace our diversity in all its forms and celebrate our unity as the body of Christ. Together we study scripture, learn from the experiences of those who preceded us in faith, receive the gifts of God’s Spirit in worship and prayer, deepen relationships with one another, and express our faith in daily living.
We are all created in God’s image and through faith we embrace the identity of all as children of God. Jesus welcomed everyone into his fellowship, fully including persons who had been marginalized in other contexts. Therefore, we welcome all people to our congregation regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and physical and mental ability.
We welcome all in worship, communion, celebrating marriage, and full participation in the life and ministries of FPCS. We invite those who profess their faith in Jesus Christ into membership, baptism, and leadership, including ordination.
Living out our Christian calling to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8), we welcome the presence, gifts, and companionship of ALL on the journey of faith.
